Over the last few days I have started to raise the barn. Good old fashioned barn raising. But this time the barn is the pilot house and we are are raising it’s foundation by 4.5″ on the bottom side. 6 layers of 3/4″ foam board. Tied together, and to the existing pilot house, with thickened epoxy. The following VIDEO and pics are after laminating everything together and after the initial sanding, Much more work to come, but a real solid start.
(The foam board is pretty tough stuff! I had to use 60 grit paper to sand it down, Anything finer just didn’t do much…)
